Our new middle grades program for campers entering 6th-9th grades is geared towards developing outdoor survival skills, appreciation for the local landscape, education about resources available to us in nature, connecting with peers, and developing independence and confidence in taking on new adventures.
Base Camp Adventurers

July 14-18, 2025
Survival Skills with a focus on completing a group survival shelter and having the chance to sleep in it or a tent at an overnight. Adventurers will learn safe knife skills, nature construction, and outdoor cooking.
We will take plenty of breaks for snacking, free play, exploration, and awareness games, too!

July 28-August 1, 2025
Survival Skills with a focus on carving and completing a bow-drill kit, making a friction fire at camp, and taking the kit home. There is a commitment to complete a friction fire kit and to learn how to safely make a fire with it. There will be some shelter building but not at the level and commitment of the other survival skills week.
We will take plenty of breaks for snacking, free play, exploration, and awareness games, too!
